With
the help of surface grinding the most diverse range of components,
which already have a very precise contour from their manufacture, can
be machined to the required dimensions and tolerances, including their
height. This applies principally both to all stamped and precision-cut
parts and also to sintered and injection-moulding parts. Often
surface grinding “only” serves to achieve a sufficiently precise
surface so that further processes can be performed on the component at
all or to enable fully-automated assembly.
Unfortunately surface grinding always results in more or less very
pronounced burr formation. This burr often has to be removed in a
subsequent deburring process.
With regards to the materials to be processed there are generally no
limitations. As well as the classic materials steel and non-ferrous
metals, increasingly more plastic, rubber, glass and ceramics are
ground. |
